Maybe the kitchen duty will make you discover that cooking is a great thing to do!
Being a student at T.I. means, that of course we educate you in the specific academic areas! BUT! There are also important life skills, we focus on every single day of the school year!
Let's start with the Kitchen duty!
At least 2 weeks every year you are a part of the Kitchen staff! You check in for duty at 6.15 in the morning, and assist the kitchen staff with food prep, dishes, baking and cleaning.
It is important to us, that our students learn, that making healthy food takes time and effort!
For some students it is their first time in a kitchen - and suddenly they see how much time it takes to bake 600 buns daily for all our students!
At T.I. lunch and dinner are also the two times a day when we are gathered as a school - having time to talk about everything and nothing!
The kitchen duty is also the students' chance to use their hands for something foody - instead of academia.

We clean the school every single day!
Cleaning is on the schedule every single day! We all appreciate a nice and neat school.
Before the chores might scare people away remember; we have 96 students to do the daily clean - it doesn’t take very long! So it isn’t the end of the world!
The chores are a natural thing for us to teach our students! Understanding that cooking takes an enormous amount time - and the fact that you also have to clean up your own mess is something that prepares you for adulthood as a responsible human being.
