A year at an efterskole is much more than ACADEMICS
– it is a developmental journey, in academic, social and personal areas that prepares young people for adulthood.
This is done by focussing on three areas:

Democratic citizenship
Self-worth
Those are the words from an extensive research project that looked into the effects of efterskole on students. The project showed, that teenagers develop specifically in three areas.
- Students develop in friendly communities.
- Communities of common interests develop the students’ self-worth.
- Efterskole communities enhance and fine tune students’ self esteem.
Give your child the best possible opportunity to succeed in further education
In 2022 another research project looked into the effects of being an efterskole student in the 10th grade. The results showed, that students from an efterskole have a 85% chance of finishing the danish gymnasium / IB program, compared to 65% of those who finished 10th grade at a public school.
