"There's nothing like it!" declares the Australian Tourist Board and we would be inclined to agree. Indigenous wildlife, homestays with local familes, visits to our school partners and unique cultural experiences are just some of the reasons to head down under on this global excursion.
Below: a student-made video highlights reel from our trip to Sydney in 2017.
A visit to Sydney will not only satisfy your need to experience the summer on the South side of the globe, it will tan your skin with culturally rich experiences. Come, emerge yourself in the cool waters of Byron Bay and make friends with the ‘real feel’ of these two fantastic destinations.
Hop on the plane in icy Denmark, your fingers and feet wrapped in mom’s knitting, and hop off again in the baking heat of your first Australian summer. Peel off the layers as you traipse on down to the waterside at Sydney Harbour, listening to some sweet tunes as the Jacaranda trees lavish you with lilac petals. Take some selfies by of the O-o-o-opera House, and continue on through the Botanical Gardens with your newfound friends, meeting the Ibis and maybe even some sleepy fruit bats.
After an evening barbecuing with your classmates, you’ll be refreshed and ready to try riding the waves on Bondi Beach. Spluttering and challenged by the salt water and the strength of unbridled ocean, you’ll be able to come back and say you tried it all. Our host sisters from PLC Sydney will be your guides for the day, and we’ll take a speedboat across the harbour to visit some very special bays and if you’re lucky, Sculptures by the Sea.
Below you can see a video from the 18/19 surf excursion.
