The International has reached the end of its third year. This year the school has had students from six different continents, and many friendships have been created across those borders.
”Country roads, take me home, to the place I belong,” our students are singing at full volume. They are holding hands, hugging and are sitting as close to each other as possible to take full advantage of the last few hours. Today they have to say goodbye to their friends at The International. They are all going home. But it is no longer their only home. It is clear from the chatter, tears and general love in the room that TI, as The International is called by students, has become a new home for them. And they will always be welcomed back for a visit. They will be missed.
“It was one of the best… I can’t even speak. It was one of the best years of my life. You can think of so many word, and even look up a lot of words to describe this year. But no amount of words are ever gonna be enough to describe it. I can’t even phrase it properly right now because I’m too busy losing my mind. But nothing can describe the way that a year here can actually change you mentally and emotionally. It’s honestly like a family and sometimes you’ll want to scream at your best friend but we all know that we love each other. These people, they become your real family,” American student Julia Morgan is smiling, laughing and crying all at once, while she tries to express what the school has meant to her.
