The International - Academy and Boarding School of Denmark hosted its yearly midterm Language Camp between the 13th and 18th of October.
34 students participated in the event – and not just from Denmark, but also from countries such as the Czech Republic and Germany.
The main theme of the week was continents, every day being dedicated to one continent with (study) blocks revolving around it. Each day, the activities tested the practical, intellectual, as well as artistic and sporting skills of the students, offering a wide spectrum to gain knowledge from. Culture and learning bits and pieces of different languages was also on the schedule. Some of the activities
included: Chinese and Hungarian language lessons, the Mexican El Dia de los Muertos tradition with both face painting and mask coloring, Catalan New Year tradition, Latin Dance, Pizza baking and putting together a Europe “Encylopedia”.
The students were divided in houses each representing a continent. Throughout the week, they competed against each other at various House Competition events such as putting together a play, creating a K-pop music video and carving Halloween pumpkins.
The week went by in a blur but left everyone with many memories for life, new friendships, a lot of knowledge to build upon and so many shared smiles.
Thank you to all the participants – we had a blast, and we hope you did too.
