English as a Second Language

English as a Second Language (0510)

Cambridge IGCSE English as a Second Language is designed for learners who already have a working knowledge of the language and who want to consolidate their understanding in order to progress in their academic or professional career.

Improving your English communication skills

The examination focuses on the key communication skills of reading, writing, speaking and listening. Emphasis is, however, on writing skills whereby you are introduced to a number of writing skills such as note-taking, summaries, applications, articles and essays. You are challenged further by having to conduct the examinations without the use of dictionaries or computers as aids.
